Abstract. It is essential to trace the source of food for security reasons. In this paper, a traceability framework is proposed and implemented for pork industry. We apply the technologies from Internet of Things such as remote monitoring, sensor network, and data mining to create a chain covering the whole process of pork production. The traceability information can also be accessed through the Internet and any costumer could find out where the pork he/she is buying comes from and how it comes. This paper is mainly focus on the implementation side of the traceability and how to preserve related information along the production process. Our experiments show that the proposed framework can implement the pork traceability efficiently. Keywords: Traceability Internet of things 2D barcode Data mining
1 Introduction Food Traceability System covers production, inspection, supervision and consumption. From the end of the 20th century to the early 21st century, the European Union, Japan and United States developed frameworks to implementation the traceability of domestic animals and animal products. These countries apply food safety legislation or government regulation to force farms to adopt food traceability system, which includes Forage breeding, environment management, inspection and quarantine, slaughtering and processing storage, transportation and sales. Recent years, China also realizes the importance of food safety traceability. The government has started the establishment of livestock production safety regulations. Some enterprises have also developed their animal traceability information system. However, only a limited number of food make full use of the tagging technology to its certain process, and these existing implementations are mainly based on human recording which will increase the cost of production. Therefore, Internet of Things should be applied into the food traceability system. Technologies of Internet of Things provide efficient tools for information gathering, data communication and sharing from different resources automatically. Traceability System can make consumers understand the production and circulation process, and increase consumers’ faith to the food itself. Therefore, it is necessary to apply Internet of Things to implement food traceability.

In this paper, a pork traceability framework is proposed based on Internet of Things. The rest of paper organized as follows: Related work is introduced in Sect. 2. Section 3 describes the proposed system. Section 4 gives the implementation and Sect. 5 concludes the whole paper.
