Increased creatinine: case report In a study of 192 paediatric patients (medical records reviewed between October 2016 to December 2016) in Kenya, a patient [age and sex not stated] was described, who experienced increased creatinine level while receiving antibiotic therapy with amikacin and gentamicin. The patient received first line antibiotic therapy with IV gentamicin injection bolus infusion for 30 seconds once daily along with benzylpenicillin for 2 days followed by IV amikacin injection bolus infusion for 30 seconds once daily along with ceftazidime for 6 days. The patient experienced >30% increase in creatinine levels secondary to amikacin and gentamicin [time to reaction onset not stated].
