Abstract Twenty-first century has witnessed a phenomenal interest and increase in E-government provision in the developed countries. Recently, many developing countries are trying to provide E-government facilities to their citizens. With the proliferation of internet, the concept of mobile government (M-government) is making headlines. These concepts are now included in the internet of things. M-government (or its sequel E-government) benefit the citizens and the government by minimizing cost, enhancing services, increasing efficiency and effectiveness, and saving operational and service delivery time. M-government archives the objective appropriate strategy that achieves the objective of providing seamless services at any time anywhere subject to the availability of internet. The Saudi Arabia government has stipulated M-government as one the priority for all government agencies. This research aims to provide an overview of the extent and success M-government in Saudi Arabia. In particular our study focuses on

1 Introduction The advancement and proliferation of internet coupled with Web 2.0 has revolutionized our life style. The ways we behave, interact and do our daily routines have greatly changed. In the last 5 years or so, the mobile technology (M-technology) has attained maturity. This has given rise to various types of M-services and have become part of internet of things (IoT). Notable amongst them are mobile government (M-government), M-learning, M-commerce, and M-business, which now are part of IoT. In this paper our aim is to discuss proliferation and success of M-government in Saudi Arabia. A good overview of M-government can be found in an OECD article [1]. In the contemporary world, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a substantial aspect and every emerging development alters people live to some extent. Evolution of ICT has drastically altered the manner in which people communicate or interact with government, leading to a crucial improvement in their expectations [2].
