Echocardiography is the imaging modality of choice for the diagnosis of congenital heart disease in the neonatal period providing the possibility for exact noninvasive assessment of the majority of cardiac malformations. In addition, functional echocardiography plays an important role in the evaluation of critically ill children in neonatology and intensive care medicine. This book addresses trainees in paediatric cardiology, paediatricians and neonatologists who are interested in the essentials of paediatric echocardiography.
