Various toxicities: case report A 67-year-old woman developed drug allergy during treatment with aspirin, angioedema during treatment with clopidogrel, and dyspnea on exertion and allergies during treatment with ticagrelor [not all dosages stated; routes not stated]. The woman, who had hereditary angioedema (due to deficiency of the complement C1 esterase inhibitor) and Samter’s syndrome, started receiving aspirin. However, she subsequently developed aspirin allergy. In 2006, because she manifested complications, she received treatment with nandroparin. With 3-year ischaemic heart disease, she underwent catheterisation with the presence of a right coronary lesion with stent placement. She then started receiving clopidogrel 75mg. But she subsequently developed angioedema. Additionally, she also developed dyspnoea on exertion and allergies during treatment with ticagrelor 90mg/24 hours [durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated]. The woman’s anticoagulant treatment was thus switched to rivaroxaban. After 6 months of rivaroxaban treatment, her underlying condition remained under control without any complication [outcomes not stated]. Zuniga Ascencio BS, et al.
