Cardiac tamponade, haemorrhagic stroke and gastrointestinal bleeding: 3 case reports In a cohort study of 137 patients who underwent coronary endarterectomy and coronary artery bypass grafting from January 2016 to July 2018, three patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, who developed cardiac tamponade, haemorrhagic stroke or gastrointestinal bleeding during antiplatelet therapy with aspirin, clopidogrel or ticagrelor. The patients underwent coronary endarterectomy with coronary artery bypass grafting. After the combined surgery, the patients were initiated on aspirin 100mg daily and clopidogrel 75mg daily (2 patients), and aspirin 100mg daily and ticagrelor 90mg twice daily (1 patient) [routes not stated]. Subsequently, the patients developed cardiac tamponade (1 patient), gastrointestinal bleeding (1 patient) and haemorrhagic stroke (1 patient) [durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated]. All patients were continued on single antiplatelet therapy with aspirin after 12 months [outcomes not stated]. Yan H, et al.
