The History of Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya “ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā uruvelāyaṃ viharati najjā nerañjarāya tīre bodhirukkhamūle paṭhamābhisambuddho. tena kho pana samayena bhagavā sattāhaṃ ekapallaṅkena isinno hoti vimuttisukhapaṭisaṃvedī” (Udāna.1.1). “Once the Lord, soon after having attained Enlightenment, was staying at Uruvelā on the bank of the river Nerañjarā at the foot of the Bodhi Tree.
