Preface

This book is my doctoral dissertation written at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Innovation and Competition. I have been a doctoral student and a scholarship holder in a highly stimulating and demanding interdisciplinary law and economics doctoral programme (IMPRS-CI), offered by the MPI for Innovation and Competition and the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, which aimed at supporting and promoting interdisciplinary research at the interface of law, economics and business administration in the area of competition law and intellectual property rights. Through the International Max Planck Research School for Competition and Innovation (IMPRS-CI), I
