Peripheral neuropathy and alopecia: case report A woman in her mid 70s’ [exact age at reaction onset not stated] developed peripheral neuropathy and alopecia during chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel for metastatic recurrent endometrial cancer. The woman, who had been diagnosed with stage IIB endometrial cancer at the age of 73 years, had undergone abdominal total hysterectomy, pelvic lymphadenectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and omentectomy, followed by adjuvant radiotherapy to the pelvis. In March 2017, she was diagnosed with multiple lung metastases. She was treated with megestrol [megestrol-acetate; Megace] and exhibited partial response. In November 2018, disease progression was noted. She was treated with letrozol. She showed stable disease until August 2019, when further disease progression in lung was noted. Hence, she started receiving chemotherapy with paclitaxel and carboplatin [carboplatina; TC protocol] every 3 weeks in cycles [routes and dosages not stated]. On day 3 after the first cycle of chemotherapy, she developed weakness, joint pain, uroinfection, dizziness and loss of appetite [aetiologies not stated]. She was treated with unspecified symptomatic-supportive treatment, and her general condition recovered within a few days. Chemotherapy with paclitaxel and carboplatin was continued at a reduced dose resulting in mild regression of disease after five cycles of chemotherapy. She developed chemotherapy-induced grade II peripheral neuropathy and alopecia [times to reactions onsets not stated]. At the time to report, she was still in good general condition [outcomes of ADRs not stated]. Sedlar IT, et al. Metastatic recurrent endometrial cancer: A case report.
