Preface

Computed tomography (CT) has undergone rapid developments to enable satisfactory performance of cardiac imaging over the last decades. As a result of the improved scanning speed, power boost tubes, and width increased detectors, the latest CT technology enables greater coverage, better spatial and temporal resolution, as well as functional information about cardiac diseases. The book is case-based and divided into six parts to widely discuss the CT imaging characteristics and applications of coronary artery disease (CAD), non-atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease, cardiac neoplasms, cardiomyopathy and aortic diseases. CT angiography imaging was traditionally advantaged in CAD for morphological evaluation of not only coronary arteries stenosis, coronary artery stents and coronary artery bypass grafting, but also non-atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
