Foreword
Systemic sclerosis is a rare and often complex disease. Its prevalence has been estimated to be about 240 cases per million adults, with an annual incidence of about 20 per million. Whether in its initial presentation, subsequent evolution, or coexistence with other often more common disorders, good care often depends on alertness to its clinical complexities and recognition of their nature.
