Cefmetazole/sulbactam/ampicillin Vitamin K deficiency: case report A 62-year-old woman developed vitamin K deficiency after treatment with sulbactam/ampicillin and cefmetazole for aspiration pneumonia [routes not stated]. The woman, who had schizophrenic catatonia, was hospitalised because of decreased food intake. Aspiration pneumonia was confirmed on X-ray and she received sulbactam/ampicillin 3 g/d for 1 week. Due to lack of improvement, her medication was switched to cefmetazole 2 g/day for 1 week. Her inflammatory reaction improved and she was transferred to another hospital for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
