FACULTY POSITION Transmission Electron Microscopy

The Materials Science and Engineering Department at Virginia Tech announces a tenure-track faculty opening in transmission electron microscopy. This person will be hired at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor and work closely with the Nanoscale Characterization and Fabrication Laboratory, a part of the Virginia Tech’s Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science. He/she is expected to have completed a PhD degree in materials science and engineering or a related discipline, and have at least three years of TEM research experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a research program, teaching, and operating an FEI Titan TEM with associated analytic equipment and software, as well as the possibility of other analytic TEMs. The MSE Department has 18 faculty, eight of whom are jointly appointed with other departments, approximately 100 undergraduate students, and 55 graduate students.
