Circulating Endothelial Progenitor Cells Definition This term is used to describe a cell population that can be isolated from circulating mononuclear cells, bone marrow, and cord blood. Experimentally, when these cells are injected into animal models with ischemia, they are rapidly incorporated into sites of neovascularization.
