Abstract This paper discusses about an on-going research that proposes a Conceptual Design Model of Interactive Computer Assisted Learning for Low Achieving children. The main intention of this paper is to determine the core segments of the conceptual model that is specifically designed to suffice the learning requirement for LA children. The determination of the core segments is conducted based on the review of interactive computer assisted learning. Meanwhile, critical analysis of 10 previous studies has been carried out to map the initial components with core segments. Results of those activities revealed five core segments with their initial components in proposing the model.

Introduction
In general, from the perspective of software engineering discipline, the development of a conceptual design model of interactive computer assisted learning (iCAL) needs to emphasize on the software design and software quality. This is associated with the areas of interaction design and user experiences in HCI discipline [1], [2], which need a practical approach to produce usable software. S.Z. It is important to governn the development process as well as to produce a hig gh level design structure thatt leads to the main intention of this study. The focal ideea of a conceptual design moodel is based on the users’ requirements, which consist of appropriate segments. Thhe definitions of the segments depend on the needeed components and users’ w working environment, which then determine the utilizatio on of suitable technologies aand theories [3]. Apparently, conceptual design model is an important initial task in delivering a useful and effective software or produ uct [4], in which it can be ussed as a guideline by software designers or developers in the implementation stage [5]. In order to satisfy the aaim of the study, this paper is subdivided into three maain sections. The first sectionn explains the methods that have been conducted in th his study and followed with further elaboration on the initial concept of iCAL in th he next section. Next, an exttensive critical review of 10 existing studies to elaboraate on the existence of thee computer assisted learning (CAL) components. Th he concept of Interactive Computer Assisted Learning for Low Achievin ng (iCAL4LA) children is illlustrated in the findings and discussion section. Finallly, the justification of the conncept is concluded in the final section.
