This book is dedicated to the Caucasian female American converts to Islam who are currently living in the United States and abroad. Without these women, and the women in this study, gathering this knowledge would have been impossible. Not only did these amazing women help me to better understand the phenomenon in question, but they also provided the support and reassurance that was necessary through this arduous writing process. I greatly respect each of these women as women first, then as friends. Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge that the writing of this manuscript may be mine, but the experiences discussed within are entirely theirs. For me, this study was less about contributing to the much needed discourse that includes female American converts to Islam, and more about giving these women the opportunity to feel validated and empowered by giving them the platform to share their stories.
