Digital technologies and media play an increasingly central role in our everyday lives—from online shopping and banking, managing our bills and services, maintaining relationships with family and friends to creating new friendships and communities, and exploring who we are and how to show ourselves to others. Many of our mundane daily activities and interactions take place online, in virtual worlds, or mediated through digital technologies.
