Diclofenac/ketoprofen Photoallergic contact dermatitis following topical application: 4 case reports Four men, aged between 21 and 57 years, developed photoallergic contact dermatitis after application of ketoprofen or diclofenac gels [dosages and outcomes not stated]. Three men started receiving topical ketoprofen gel for joint pain (two patients) or as adjuvant therapy after metatarsal fracture in the left hand (1); the fourth patient started receiving diclofenac gel for joint pain. Photoallergic contact dermatitisdeveloped after 2–14 days in all patients with joint pain, and after 60 days in the patient using adjuvant ketoprofen gel. All patients developed intensely pruritic eczematous skin reactions at the application sites, and two ketoprofen recipients also developed bullae. Jenerowicz D, et al.
