Dienogest Metrorrhagia, abdominal pain, depression and hot flashes: 5 case reports Five women developed adverse reactions, including metrorrhagia, gastralgia, depression and hot flashes, during treatment with oral dienogest 1mg twice daily (2 mg/day) for extragenital endometriosis and associated symptoms [see table for details].

Patients 3 and 4 discontinued dienogest after 10 to 11 months of therapy, after developing gastralgia and depression, respectively.
