Abstract
Considering incompatibility between the color QR code and the standard QR code decoder and insecurity of information storage in the open network environment, this paper proposes a distributed color QR code by analyzing the decoding process of the QR code, which employs theShamir’s(k,n)secretsharingalgorithmtoensurethesecurityofthesecretinformationandsets threshold to achieve compatibility with the standard decoder. Furthermore, we analyze the influence of threshold values on the performance of the proposed scheme, and determine the valid threshold value interval of the algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is feasible with a fast reading speed and high secret storage capacity within the threshold interval. Keywords Color QR code . 1 Introduction QRcode[10],atypical digital imagerecognizedbydecoders, iswidelyappliedinallwalksoflifeforits fast reading speed, high data density and strong error correction ability. However, the information payload of QR code cannot satisfy the current application requirements in large-capacity data management scenarios. Scholars expect to expand the data capacity of QR codes by increasing dimensions, for which the color barcode technology emerged. The amount of data embedded in each color code module corresponds to the type of coded color in 2n base. The efficiency of data embedding into color barcodes is greatly improved, which attracted the attention of scholars. In 2000, Han et al. [18] designed a color barcode for low resolution devices. With its relative difference between the color Zhengxin Fu and Sijia Liu contributed equally to this work. Zhengxin Fu and Sijia Liu are co-first authors.

of each cell and the standard color constant in the printing process, the scheme overcomes color distortion by setting the color value of the standard cell and introducing the reference value of the standard color. However, when the value of the color barcode unit is similar, the accuracy of the algorithm decreases badly. PM Code (Paper Memory Code) [14] proposed by the Japanese Patent Office, consists of multi-layer QR codes with specific colors, which improves data capacity by its uniquehierarchical structure. The colormodule ofPMcodemaypresent thecolor ofa single code layer or color of a combination of multiple code layers. When color of multiple code layers is identical to single code layer, the composite color is replaced by the specified color in RGB (red, green, blue) and HSB (hue, saturation, brightness) spaces according to t
