ABSTRACT
In this study, flotation of oxidised ores rich in copper and cobalt from Mupine deposit in the Democratic Republic of Congo had been investigated. This ore contains 4.85% copper, 0.16% cobalt. The recovery of copper and cobalt was performed using flotation to increase the concentration of copper and cobalt. Flotation of the oxidized ore was performed with fatty acid type Rinkalore. Copper and cobalt present in the ore were concentrated with optimal doses of sodium silicate, Rinkalore mixture of 500 g/t, 1500 g/t respectively and optimum tall oil and pH of 23% and 9.5 respectively. The influence of Rinkalore Bioex, Rinkalore Booster Q, pH and sodium silicate on optimum operating conditions were studied. Improved performance of operating conditions was obtained with the mixture of reagents Rinkalores 10 and Booster Q. Primary feed titrating 8.70% copper and 0.31% cobalt respectively had a recovery yield of 53% and 34% respectively, and rougher concentrate titrating 8.13% copper and 0.33 % Cobalt respectively had a recovery yield of 97% and 70% respectively. INTRODUCTION Oxidised ores with dolomitic gangue are usually treated by sulphidising flotation. Flotation by fatty acids such as soap, alkyl esters on oxidised ores may also be used with less effect for this type of ore. However, some specific fatty acids called Rinkalores 10, Booster and Bioex seem to give efficient results compare to sulphidising flotation.
OBJECTIVES The present work aims to study the flotation of copper and cobalt oxidised ores with dolomitic gangue using the fatty acid Rinkalores. The study outlines the effect, the efficiency of the reactive compared to the usual reactants.

MATERIAL AND METHODS •
The raw materials used in flotation tests were:
o The collecting agent: mixture R10, mixture R10-R and mixture R10-R.Booster Q. R10-R (Rinkalore 10): - gasoil: 31% - Rinkalore: 46% - Tall-oil: 23% R10-R.Bioex (Rinkalore 10 + Rinkalore Bioex + Tall-oil) where Rinkalore Bioex substitutes gasoil in the same proportion. R10-R.BoosterQ (Rinkalore 10 + Rinkalore Booster Q + gasoil + tall-oil) where Rinkalore Booster is used as additive to Rinkalore 10 and depressant for the gangue.

o Sodium silicate 30% concentrated used as depressant and dispersant of the gangue. o Soda ash used as pH regulator and water softener, pH fixed at 9.5 for all data collected. Ore milled on a 200 mesh screen deck Milled pulp poured and homogenised in a flotation cell pH reading with an electrode by adding soda ash, sodium silicate and mixture of Rinkalore. Samples were dried, weighted and analysed for the copper, cobalt, lime and magnesia. Tests were perfo
