Abstract In this paper we aim at the problem for the freshmen in learning mathematics and propose some measures to enhance students’ learning interest, according to theory knowledge of training study interest in psychology and education, combining my years of teaching practice, and referencing other teachers’ precious experience. The study will give a help in improving the students’ learning interest, training high-quality practical talent for school and improving teaching quality. Introduction

Confucius said: “Curiosity is more important than knowledge itself, and interest is even more important than pure curiosity”, visibly interest is the best teacher. Once we are interesting in some things, we will form a powerful motivation, with this power, those seemingly impossible will easily be resolved, if lack this power, we will be in chaos living [1]. Thus stimulating the students’ study interest is the key to improve the teaching quality and stimulate the students’ potential.

The Problem for the Freshmen in Learning Math

To just entering a university freshman speaking, from the university entrance exam pressure, in the face of beautiful university campus, they will have some vacant. Math as the compulsory course for students majoring in science, is one of the new first contact subject for them, and how to stimulate their learning mathematics interest is our mathematics teachers’ priority. Through the survey, we know the problems for students learning mathematics is:

Self-control ability is poor, although sometimes they also want to do well in their studies, but they often push today’s study to tomorrow, and tomorrow to the day after tomorrow, because of laziness or is hard to resist the temptation of outside other factors, they cannot be effectively restrains own behavior, not good at control and adjust their own state, so it will be difficult to achieve established eventually learning goals.
