Abstract Purpose of Review The purpose of this analysis is to consider the pros and cons of the impact of intelligent vehicle innovation on society and legal rules in force with a view to better understand the best definition of the objectives for the legal system to actively pursue. The key principles of the legal system necessary to prepare ad hoc regulations for intelligent vehicles and self-driving cars will be highlighted, and—at the same time—the possible reformulations of the laws currently in force will be considered to better adapt our system to an innovation of this magnitude, all with particular regard to the concept of civil liability, which must be completely reshaped to meet the new needs. Recent Findings There are many reforms in the field of intelligent vehicles that have been taking place in recent times, especially in the legal field. The law is, in fact, the mirror of society and consequently is the area that must most adapt itself to all the innovations that are introduced by technological development. The world is moving to better prepare itself for the introduction of intelligent vehicles on the market; however, there is a clear gap between technological innovation, which is ready to be introduced, and our mentality and regulatory systems, which do not yet seem prepared to imagine a new way of driving and imputing civil liability. Summary This analysis will identify the main regulatory policy issues that seem to actively hinder the introduction of self-driving cars and intelligent vehicles, such as the absolute lack of legislative figures able to assess the legal repercussions that progress necessarily entails. At the same time, we will attempt to provide effective answers to various questions through a critical, third, and impartial reading of the rules that we currently have available and to exploit these to our advantage. Furthermore, we will attempt to understand whether our society, still modern and forward looking, is truly ready for such an important innovation as that of intelligent vehicles that will undoubtedly upset many areas of our lives and the rules that have regulated us until now. Introduction Considering the consolidated “crisis” that is jeopardizing the conception of the ethical-juridical rules known to date, numerous technological-social innovations have made their way. In fact, the current crisis of ethical-legal values represents, in reality, the only fertile ground for any type of revolution aimed at overturning past legal elaborations and—perhaps
aimed at creating a new type of order of the binomial life— right will be the mirror of the needs of the other. In other words, “there can be no change without any crisis”. In this framework, therefore,
