Fault Correcting and Temporally Predictable Fieldbus Communication
Generally, the processing of control algorithms is time critical, i.e., it does not render the intended results if certain timing conditions are not observed. As stressed by Lauber, this is expressed by two fundamental requirements which the user of real

Preface
Sophisticated and Flexible control is something that may indeed change the automation system in the most dramatic way. Methods of automation and control represent a broad research topic with applications in many disciplines including industrial and production engineering, manufacturing, process control, robotics, instrumentation, home automation and many others based upon the sophistication, flexibility and state-of-the-art technology. Fieldbus Technology (FT), an enabling platform has already emerged in order to cater the need for sophistication and flexibility and as a matter of fact it has becoming the preferred choice for the next generation real-time automation and process control solutions. Technological researches are now dilating instead of diverging. The primary reason is being the fact that the current technological designs is of highly complex and inter-interdisciplinary nature involving synergistic integ
