Filter Design
This chapter will combine all our learning from the previous chapters to design filters. We will design a low pass filter and a band stop filter. We will use transfer functions from Chap. 6 to synthesize our filters. We will introduce several Python comm

Preface
The biggest transformation in the power engineering sector has been the pace at which it has been digitized. This trend will continue in the years to come, where traditional analog devices are being replaced by computerized devices. The advent of smart grids makes the implementation of digital technology its core philosophy. This transformation is in general a positive change since we are moving towards a power system that is better coordinated and more efficient allowing a greater proliferation of green technologies. The transformation also poses a challenge to the traditional power system design and planning methodology, where such digitization was not present. The power engineer of today needs to be familiar with digital technologies in addition to power engineering. As a power engineer, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunities to learn digital technologies while the transformation of the power system was still in the nascent stage. The prospect is far more daunting now. Due to
