Cushing syndrome and hypertension: case report An 11-month-old girl developed Cushing syndrome and hypertension during treatment with fluticasone propionate for nappy rash. The girl presented to paediatric outpatient department with parents due to facial swelling. Examination showed normal height and weight for age; however, she had cushingoid facies with plethoric cheeks and centripetal obesity with muscle wasting. Systemic examination showed normal results, but her BP was noted as high for her age. During anamnesis, it was revealed that she had been using a nappy rash cream containing fluticasone propionate [fluticasone] for 2 months [dosage not stated]. Hence, the cushingoid features and hypertension were considered as secondary to the use of fluticasone propionate cream [outcomes not stated]. Gillani S, et al.
