This special issue consists of selected papers presented at the 28th ASME Annual Conference on Information Storage and Processing Systems at University of California, San Diego on June 24–25, 2020. The conference covered broad topics on information storage and processing systems. Presenters were invited to submit full length journal papers for publication in MST. All submitted papers were refereed according to the rigorous journal standards. The review process was coordinated by following guest editors: Prof. Paul C.-P. Chao, Yuan Ma, and Tien-Kan Chung. Twentythree papers were accepted for publication.
