When Professor D’Errico and I decided to write this book, myriad of thoughts and feelings went through my mind. The first feeling was the delight of being able to share with him the writing of a work started when I was “young,” and he was the first tutor when I was a resident in nuclear medicine: he asked me what I was able to do and I said “nothing at all”! The second one was the sadness for the passing of Professor Gianclaudio Ciofetta, to whom this work is dedicated, who would have been proud to see his greatest wish realized.
