Foreword
The novel generalizations of information and divergence measures have deep applications in the natural and social sciences. The focus of this book is on applications of development in generalized measures of information and divergence in fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy environment to solve the problems related to the multi-criteria decision-making, linguistic variables, pattern recognition and medical diagnosis. The generalizations of information measures are fresh and well introduced; the numerical examples are quite convincing. The new generalized R-norm fuzzy information and divergence measures are introduced and validated by characterization and generalization of various measures of fuzzy information. It is followed by establishing relations between generalized fuzzy entropy measure and their fuzzy divergence measures, which improved their simplicity, consistency and flexibility. The comparative applications of parametric generalized exponential fuzzy divergence measure are provided in the context of strategic decision-making.
