Various toxicities: 4 case reports In a study of adverse events reported between 1 May 2017 and 31 December 2018 in National Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) Reporting System (Taiwan), four patients (2 boys and 2 girls) aged 15–29 months were described, of whom a 15-month-old girl developed viral respiratory tract infection after Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Pneumococcal-13-valent-CRM197-vaccineconjugate vaccination; a 20-month-old boy developed cellulitis after vaccination with Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Hib-DTaPpoliovirus-vaccine; a 15-month-old girl developed focal segmental glomerulosclerosis after vaccination with Japanese encephalitis vaccine; a 29-month-old boy developed febrile seizure after vaccination with Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Pneumococcal-13-valent-CRM197-vaccine-conjugate [routes and dosages not stated; not all outcomes stated]. The 15-month-old girl received Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Pneumococcal-13-valent-CRM197-vaccine-conjugate (PCV13). On the next day, she developed fever, rhinorrhoea and exudative conjunctivitis. Subsequently, she was hospitalised. She was diagnosed with viral respiratory tract infection. The 20-month-old boy received Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Hib-DTaP-poliovirus-vaccine. On the same day, at the HibDTaP-poliovirus-vaccine injection site, he developed fever with local swelling, erythema and tenderness. He was hospitalised for two days. A diagnosis of cellulitis at injection site was made. The 15-month-old girl received Japanese encephalitis vaccine. After seven days, she developed fever, exanthema, generalised oedema of bilateral lower limbs and puffy eyelids. Subsequently, she was hospitalised for two months. A final diagnosis of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis was made. The 29-month-old boy received Japanese encephalitis vaccine and Hib-DTaP-poliovirus-vaccine. On the next day, he developed fever, upward gaze and disturbed consciousness. He was admitted. Upon admission, he regained consciousness. Mile haematuria was noted. A diagnosis of febrile seizure was thus noted. He did not experience any further episodes of febrile seizure. Therefore, he was discharged on the same day. Ma H-Y, et al.
