Foreword

Globally, ageing is seen to be one of the biggest challenges for societies as they grapple with the needs of this demographic group. It requires a new awareness of the deployment of resources, rethinking health care and new skills of redesigning and retrofitting a city and housing for this important and growing population. Cities and authorities have to think of new innovative solutions to meet these needs. The Lee Li Ming Programme in Ageing Urbanism was established in the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities in 2013 through the generous gift of a private donor who had a special interest in research on ageing. The annotated bibliography is a product of the literature scan on the subject of housing for the older population in Singapore. It focuses on housing for the elderly, examining where they live, how they live and how they cope with the experiences they encounter. Th
