Wheezing and anaphylaxis: 2 case reports In a study involving 109 patients who received treatment with immune globulin between 2014 and 2016, 2 patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, who developed wheezing and anaphylaxis, respectively following administration of immune globulin for primary immune deficiency. Both the patients had primary antibody deficiency or combined immune deficiency, received hospital based IV immune globulin infusion [Octagam and Kiovig, respectively; dosages not stated]. Subsequently, both the patients developed adverse events which were manifested as moderate wheezing associated with immune globulin [Octagam] (1 patient) or anaphylaxis associated with immune globulin [Kiovig] [times to reactions onsets not stated]. Therapy with immune globulin was therefore discontinued in the patient who developed moderate wheezing, and was treated with unspecified steroids. The patient, who developed anaphylaxis, was treated with epinephrine, unspecified antihistaminics and steroids. Nain E, et al.
