Abstract The state of hospitals both it is public or private after implementation and smooth running of healthcare information systems will be transformed in all aspects. It will further provide benefits to all health care workers (HCW) by timely fulfilling the information needs. It is anticipated that the implementation will have better results and will decrease medical errors, escalate legibility, reduce costs and enhance the quality of healthcare system. Moreover, if the need of HCW is identified and served properly only then it increases the effectiveness of health care information system (HCIS). The issues regarding standardization of information needs will be maintained, if the management of electronic medical records, technology acceptability, resistance, adoption, implementation, policy issues and security are taken care with utmost caution. This paper identifies the IT interventions used in obtaining needful information of HCW through computing confirmatory factor analysis on the data collected from heath care workers of large hospitals of Delhi. 1 Introduction The healthcare information system implies to process, store and retrieve medical data. On demand, it can process, generate proper information, which can be converted into knowledge in the health care sector. The healthcare information systems, hospital information systems and health information systems are often used interchangeably [1]. Doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, medical students, laboratory staff, administrative staff, support staff such as cleaners, orderlies etc. all were treated as health care workers (HCW’s) [2]. In the present paper the Doctors, Nursing Staff, Laboratory Staff and Technicians, Dieticians, Pharmacist and Administrative Staff are taken in consideration as HCW. The information technology is used to fulfill the needs of information required by healthcare workers. Information technology is being progressively used in the healthcare industry for patient treatment to post management, follow up, record maintenance and overall hospital maintenance. The information provided is best used for structural knowledge, for clinical decisions and to use all resources in cost effective manner [3]. 1.1 Research objective This paper has the following objectives: • • •
