Methaemoglobinaemia secondary to overdose and medication error: 3 case reports In a case series, 3 patients including a 4-week old boy, a 2-month old boy and a neonate [not all ages and sexes stated] were described, who developed methaemoglobinaemia, secondary to overdose (2 patients) and medication error (1 patient) during treatment with lidocaine/prilocaine [duration of treatments to reaction onsets not stated]. Case 1: A 4-week-old boy was admitted to an emergency room after he was found lethargic, uninterested in breastfeeding and had an abnormal skin tone. On the day prior to his emergency room visit, he had undergone circumcision under local anaesthetic. At the time of admission, he was awake but was hypoxic. He had sinus tachycardia. His body temperature was 37.9°C, blood glucose 5.5 mmol/L and CRP
