Preface
This volume contains the papers selected for presentation at the 11th European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence (or Journ´ees Europ´eennes sur la Logique en Intelligence Artificielle, JELIA), which was held from September 28 to October 1, 2008, at the Technische Universit¨at Dresden, Germany. In total, 98 research papers were submitted by researchers from 24 countries. Each submission was reviewed by at least three expert reviewers. The final decisions on the papers were taken during an electronic Program Committee meeting held on the Internet. The Program Committee accepted 32 research papers for presentation at the conference. This includes two summaries of master theses that won the best thesis award of the European Master’s Programme in Computational Logic (EMCL) in 2006 and 2007, respectively: the paper by Magdalena Ortiz on “Extending CARIN to the Description Logics of the SH Family” and the one by Novak Novakovic on “Proof-Theoretic Approach to Deciding Subsumption and Computing Least Common Subsumer
