As central bankers would openly admit, implementation does matter in monetary politics. However, implementation issues are rather seldom the subject of serious academic research. To counteract both these deficits in perception and this research gap was the motive for the international conference entitled “Monetary Policy Execution in East Asia”, which was organised by the East Asia Institute in Ludwigshafen in May 2018.
