Lack of efficacy during treatment of synthetic opioid intoxication: case report In a retrospective review of enquiries to the poisons information centre regarding new psychoactive substances intoxication after abuse between 2016 and 2018, a 30-year-old man was described, who exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with naloxone for synthetic opioid intoxication. The man developed cardiac arrest after intoxication following abuse of a synthetic opioid, U-47700. After resuscitation, he was comatose. He was intubated and exhibited miosis. He was treated with naloxone [route and dosage not stated]. Despite naloxone treatment and reanimation, his condition deteriorated. He died after 2 days due to the intoxication.
