Neuropsychiatric Symptoms of Inflammatory Demyelinating Diseases is the third volume of a series of volumes on the psychiatric aspects of common neurological diseases, to be published by Springer, with José M. Ferro as Series Editor. The first volume was dedicated to the neuropsychiatric symptoms of stroke and cerebrovascular diseases, and the second to the neuropsychiatric symptoms of movement disorders. Multiple sclerosis (MS) and other inflammatory demyelinating diseases are the commonest causes of long-standing disability in young adults due to diseases of the central nervous system. In MS, psychiatric symptoms and comorbidities could occur at onset or during the disease course. Diagnosis could be difficult and management is not easy.
