More so than ever, technology has revolutionized the way in which we interact. We can no longer imagine a world without video calls, emails, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Technology and the Internet have made the world smaller, or so it seems. The past months have greatly disrupted the way in which we look at this seemingly shrinking world and the way in which we are used to conducting our lives. This time, technology was not the driver, but rather a virus that everyone now knows as COVID-19. In this new era of social distancing and physical isolation, technology was assigned a star role. We use it as a tool for emotional, social and physical survival as we, for instance, connect with family, friends, colleagues and suppliers of goods. As you can suspect, this foreword was written in the midst of this COVID-19 crisis. These trying times have invited us to reflect on our personal values and outlook on life and provide an opportunity for introspection on a broader and societal level. We can only hope that something good will come for this and perhaps that this crisis turns out to be a motor for posi
