of the spectrophotometer "Specord - M40". To study radiation damages of crystals "°Co 7 - ray sources of PNPI were used with dose rates in the interval of ( 0.5 - 10.0 )krad/min. In special case the "°Co source with extremely low dose rate of 0.45 Rad/min was used. The accuracy of dose measurements was (10 - 15)%. Emission spectra of CeF 3 crystals were recorded under UV-flashlight excitation in the wavelength range (200 - 400) nm by the standard monochromator MDR-2 with the resolution of 1 nm. Luminescence decay curves after pulsed X-ray excitation were measured using single photon counting method. The time resolution of the method was approxi-

mately lOOps. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. Photo and radio-luminescence (RL) spectra of purified CeF 3 have peak at A -_300nm with width of (30 - 50) nm at the room temperature['3]. One can observe more complicated structure in emission spectra of pure CeF 3 crystals at T=77' K I4'. In this case there are two emission components: fast and slow having different excitation bands. The fast component with the decay constant -r
