Hypothyroidism: 2 case reports In a retrospective study (TCTR20200608006) of seven men with rhinofacial entomophthoramycosis treated between January 2009 and May 2019, a 47-year-old man and a 71-year-old man were described, who developed hypothyroidism while receiving potassium-iodide for rhinofacial entomophthoramycosis. The men with rhinofacial entomophthoramycosis started receiving potassium-iodide 30 mg/kg/day [route not stated] along with itraconazole. Subsequently, they developed hypothyroidism secondary to potassium-iodide. Therefore, potassium-iodide was discontinued after 3–5 months of therapy [duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcomes not stated]. Chaiyasate S, et al.
