It has been a number of years since my first Rasch book (Rasch Analysis in the Human Sciences) was published. During the years between completing that first Rasch book and completing this second book (Advances in Rasch Analysis in the Human Sciences), I have had the fortune to learn a little more of Rasch each day— be it through my teaching of Rasch to colleagues and students or through articles I have authored and coauthored. I cannot imagine another field to have worked in. To measure is so central to what humans do, and Rasch methods help one measure! I am in debt to so many individuals as my Rasch journey continues onward—in particular to my students who ask questions that are probing, my students who have helped me improve the manner in which I explain things, and my students who helped me slow down. As I learn and explain Rasch, I continually am thankful for the opportunity to have interacted with Ben Wright and Mike Linacre.
