The following is a description of the symposia, equipment exhibit, short course program, job placement center, and other activities planned for this year's MRS Fall Meeting. Make plans now to attend the meeting and preregister early using the forms in this issue of the BULLETIN.
General Information Registration P r e r e g i s t r a t i o n is s t r o n g l y e n c o u r a g e d to speed check-in at t h e m e e t i n g . D e a d l i n e for p r e r e g i s t r a t i o n is N o v e m b e r 1, 1 9 8 6 . T h e fee for t h e 1 9 8 6 Fall M e e t i n g for r e g i s t r a t i o n s received by N o v e m b e r 1 is $ 1 5 5 ; t h e p r e r e g i s t r a t i o n fee for s t u d e n t s is $ 4 5 . T h e r e g i s t r a t i o n fee after N o v e m b e r 1 and o n - s i t e is $ 1 7 5 ($55 for s t u d e n t s ) . P a y m e n t of t h e r e g i s t r a t i o n fee allows t h e p a r t i c i p a n t t o a t t e n d all s y m p o s i a , t h e P l e n a r y Session, and t h e Von Hippel A w a r d Reception. A t - m e e t i n g r e g i s t r a t i o n will be on t h e f o u r t h floor of t h e Boston M a r r i o t t . H o u r s are: Sunday: 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p . m . Tuesday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Friday: 7:30 a.m. - noon Short C o u r s e s T w e n t y - t h r e e short courses on advanced r e s e a r c h t e c h n i q u e s will be o f f e r e d at v a r i o u s t i m e s d u r i n g t h e w e e k .
