Preface

The primary goal of these workshops is to bring together people who are involved in the academic/practitioner interface in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The first three workshops of this series were held between 2003 and 2005 in Berkeley, CA, while the fourth workshop was in Hamburg, Germany, in 2006. Since 2007 the workshop has taken place every 2 years in Berkeley. Maintaining this tradition, the eighth workshop was held there in October 2013 at the Claremont Hotel Club & Spa. This book is a collection of proceedings of this latest workshop. All of the papers hav
