Random matrix theory (RMT) has a long history, starting with the statistics of nuclear energy levels by Wigner, and it has found applications in wide areas of all sciences from mathematics to biology. The universality of properties derived from random matrices has led to a large number of applications such as network statistics, big data analysis, and biological information.
