Preface

In the context of regionalization of the global economy, related to the growth of members of international economic relations, the role of formation of regional integration associations for the successful representation and protection of interests of their countries in the world arena increases. Russia and the European Union are characterized by not only geographical proximity but by similar sociocultural specifics and common economic interests. This provides possibilities and predetermines the necessity for expansion of cooperation and interaction between Russia and the EU. However, despite obtaining mutual profit from such cooperation, its development has been stopped due to unfavorable influence of external factors caused by unfavorable geopolitical and geo-economic situation. This leads to loss of profit for Russia and the EU, caused by the impossibility to realize the existing foreign economic potential and the potential for promotion of the common policy at the international level.
