Sc-W (Scandium-Tungsten) H. Okamoto

The Sc-W phase diagram in [Massalski2] was adopted from [1988Pan]. In this phase diagram, the form of the liquidus for 0 to ⬃10 at.% W was drawn with the data of [1966Den], which were obtained by the equilibration and quenching method. The liquidus for the remaining range was speculative. Figure 1 shows the Sc-W phase diagram calculated by [2000Kri] with use of a regular solution model. Although [2000Kri] used the same data of [1966Den] as [1988Pan], the diagram of [2000Kri] is believed to be superior because

the enthalpy of mixing for the liquid phase was first derived from the phase diagram data and then the liquidus was calculated. References 1966Den: D.H. Dennison, M.J. Tschetter, and K.A.
