The idea for our Green Economies Network became a reality with the initial workshop held at the Department of Human Geography at Stockholm University in November 2011. Later events included organized sessions at various international conferences with the economic geographers Brita Hermelin (University of Linköping), Andrew Jones (City University, London), Patrik Ström (University of Gothenburg) and Grete Rusten (University of Bergen) and the receipt of funding from the European Association for Research on Services (RESER) in 2012.
