Preface
This is the second volume of the book series on "spin dynamics in confined magnetic structures". During the last few years, ultrafast magnetization dynamics has grown to one of the very important subjects in modern magnetism. It is our aim to cover all major research aspects studied in this field, which currently is experiencing tremendous development, in b o t h general understanding of the basic physical phenomena and in its applications. The explosive growth of information d a t a storage and communication technologies has pushed timescales beyond the GHz regime, and, as it turns out, the know-how of spin dynamics
