Preface

The aim of the publication “Storm Water Management, Examples from Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland” is to provide a knowledge and experience mainly for professionals, researchers, lecturers and academics in the field of storm water management. The importance of this topic in the time of climate change is growing. There is increasing emphasis these days on storm water management mainly in urban areas. The publication deals with the topic of incorporating rainwater back into the natural water cycle as close as possible to its source. This solution is hydrologically and technically meaningful and may be advantageous in terms of the national economy. The publication aims to familiarize candidates with the procedures and principles of the use, retention and infiltration of rainwater mainly from point of view of the experts from V4 countries.
